Honolulu, 12/15/25
Happy holidays friend! I’m full of gratitude as I write this final newsletter of 2025, sitting at my favorite surf-inspired coffee shop in Venice.
I’ve been having a relaxing holiday season. Wes and I traveled to Oahu again before the holidays and got our fair share of vitamin D and wetsuit-free surf sessions. Back in California, we’ve been spending quality time together as a family - sharing meals, wrapping presents, building gingerbread houses, and rewatching all the Harry Potter movies. 🧙♀️
Thank you so much for supporting my work and sharing it with your family, friends, and colleagues. Every thoughtful reply and genuine connection along the way means more to me than you know.
I hope you have a restful holiday and a wonderful new year. 🥂

5 Ways Living in Hawaii Changed My Life 🌺 Wes and I lived in Oahu for six months during the pandemic and I have been changed for good (shoutout to my Wicked fans 💚🩷). Five years later, I finally shared my reflections on this unforgettable chapter of my life.

✨ 5 THINGS INSPIRING ME
1. ARTIST: Jeff Gress
Jeff is a lettering artist and muralist based in Hawaii. His sign painting and murals can be found all over Oahu and I love how he blends traditional techniques with modern design and collaborations with other artists. He also gave a talk at CreativeMornings Honolulu this month, which I was lucky to attend.
Check out his work here.

2. ATHLETE: Carissa Moore
Carissa is a Hawaii-based Olympic gold medalist and five-time world champion in women’s surfing. She welcomed her first baby, Olena, in February and after taking time off for family and recovery, she returned to competition this winter — earning 2nd place at the HIC Haleiwa Pro and 1st place at the Florence Pipeline Pro. 🔥
Check out her recent performance here.

3. BOOK: In Five Years
This romance novel by Rebecca Serle follows an ambitious, type-A lawyer living in NYC who experiences a vivid dream that alters the course of her next five years. The characters felt relatable and the concept was compelling. I especially loved the author’s descriptive writing, which made the scenes in Manhattan and Brooklyn feel so real.

4. TECH: DJI Osmo Action 4 Camera
I’ve been on the hunt for an action cam for years and finally pulled the trigger this winter as a Christmas bonus for myself. 🎁 It’s a tiny camera with excellent image stabilization and works underwater without a case. Game changer! Can’t wait to capture more surfing footage with it.
Check out the camera here.

5. VIDEO: The Future of Surfing
Earlier this year, I became friends with Lucas Bica and Matt Pagan, both surfers based in the South Bay of LA. Along with my former colleague Diego Mendes, they created a short film about the impact of surfing and community. It’s beautifully shot, with honest and authentic storytelling.
